
Gabriel Whitlock brings a unique blend of scientific insight and practical experience to every project. With undergraduate degrees in both the natural and social sciences, Gabriel approaches arboriculture with a foundation in scientific, logical thinking—ensuring that every recommendation is grounded in evidence and best practices.
As a Board Certified Master Arborist, Gabriel has directed plant health care programs, administered targeted treatments, conducted municipal tree inventories, and authored subject matter expert reports. He is Tree Risk Assessment Qualified, Wildfire Risk Assessment Qualified, and holds a North Carolina Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s license, offering clients a comprehensive suite of services for Plant Health Care, tree risk, wildfire reduction, and woodland health. Gabriel is also an active member of the American Society of Consulting Arborists (ASCA), International Society of Arboriculture, Southern Chapter ISA, North Carolina Urban Forestry Council, and the Project Management Institute, reflecting his commitment to professional excellence and ongoing education.
A highlight of Gabriel’s career is his participation in the annual Tour des Trees, a long-distance cycling adventure benefiting the Tree Research and Education Endowment Fund (TREE Fund). This event is the primary public outreach initiative for TREE Fund, whose mission is to identify and fund programs that advance new knowledge in arboriculture and urban forestry. Gabriel’s involvement demonstrates his dedication not only to his clients, but also to the future of tree science and community engagement.
